Clinical Experience Module

From May 2011, students will be able to undertake a Clinical Experience Module to fulfil part of their Work Experience Component requirements.

Instead of undertaking 75 days of work experience, students who select the Clinical Experience Module will complete only 25 days of work experience and 5 additional Clinical Experience activities. The activities must be undertaken over a period of at least 5 weeks and will involve a reflection on and analysis of your work experience.

Please be aware that work experience placements undertaken more than 12 months prior to your enrolment in the Clinical Experience Module will not be eligible for approval.

You may only enrol in the Clinical Experience Module once you have successfully completed your Coursework Component and you need to enrol at least one week before the date of the Advanced Skills Workshop date that you wish to attend - see below. You can access the Enrolment Form by clicking on the Apply Now button to the right.

Students are still required to complete the Coursework Component and the Continuing Professional Education Component. Students selecting the Clinical Experience Module will pay an additional fee, see: Program Fees.

Some activities may be completed before your work experience, others may only be completed after your 25 days of work experience, as follows.

Before, during or after your work experience you may complete Activities 1 and 2.
Only after your work experience may you complete Activities 3, 4 and 5.

If you undertake your work experience after enrolling in the Clinical Experience Module it will take a minimum of 10 weeks in total to complete the module (5 weeks work experience plus 5 weeks completing prescribed activities and attendance at workshop). If you have already completed all your work experience less than 12 months prior to enrolling in the Clinical Experience Module, the minimum is 5 weeks to complete the module.

It is not possible to complete the Clinical Experience Module in a shorter timeframe.
